You've Always Had Rhythm

This was your 2nd Christmas, a few months after you had turned 1. We were getting ready to go visit our relatives and eat good food. You had to have a DanceBreak first.

We were at TT Ebony's hose waiting for her to feed us. So. Ussies. 

Monday morning. Early, chilly start to the work/school week. We were fly, per the usual.

At Sherman Park. Our first time on a swing together. It was amazing, to say the least.

This was also taken at TT's house. We were playing around. 

This was the day we went to Bronzeville Fest in the Bronzeville District and State Fair. Super fun times! 

Early morning tomfoolery. Saturday mornings are the best with you. 

I tried to impress upon you how hot is was outside, but you didn't care. 

I actually just took this photo today! We went and picked out a gift for one of your friends, Marli. 

Same day. I'm going to guess you were hot, lol. 

Headed to drop you off to your daddy. You're such a cute little thing in the morning. 

At this point, you've become a natural charmer.

I had had a very long week. Coming home to you Friday evening was the best way to end it.

A Few Wise Words . . .

At this point in your life, you're becoming your own person and ultimately making the types of decisions that will affect the rest of your life. I, as well as the rest of your family, will always be here behind you for advice and to support those decisions.

As you go into the world, prepare to make mistakes. Some will cost you a lot, but those are the ones you need to pay attention to the most. Learn from them so they aren't repeated in the future.

You're handsome (I know this without ever having met future you) and I know that women will be tempting. But I want to tell you this to help you maintain focus on what is important at this stage in life.

So you're two now, and on top of being completely energetic and full of personality, you are the most beautiful child I've ever encountered (it kind of helps that you're my own, lol).
